"HOW CAN YOU CONFINE a HOW CAN YOU CONFINE a particular individual at a varsity laboratory for 10 years—training him how to remove someone's aching tooth or to straighten someone's bent tooth or to add some filler material into someone's open pulp cavity—something which can be done by a village riffraff or a village cattle rustler—and then give him/her the title DOCTOR? How can you confine someone at the varsity laboratory for more than half a decade—training him how to remove excess gas from the alimentary canal of a ruminant suffering from bloat or to act as a midwife of cows and goats and sheep and pigs In some forgotten village—and then call him a vet doctor—something which can be done by a herds-boy or by an illiterate, old man? How can you put a normal human being at a varsity lecture hall for a decade—training him or her how to become a mechanical engineer, leaving him with no idea even how to make toothpicks—when a class six drop-out can easily move to Germany, train over there as a mechanic or a welder and then come back home after two years with the title "Engineer"? How can you train someone as a teacher at the University for half a decade and release him/her into the teaching fraternity—where he or she meets untrained teachers, form four graduates, who teaches well and are well informed more than him/her? How do you keep someone at the university for years, studying a certain course and then release him into the job market—where he or she spends hours in the queues with uneducated persons—trying to convince the interviewers that he is the best mower in town? How can you? These are the pertinent questions we can ask today; these are the fundamental issues we want to address conclusively under the Fedora National Movement[FNM]. This movement seeks to liberate the minds of our people and provide them with a platform where they can express the elements of their discontentment. I am ready to work with anyone who feels that it is time for generation to take over the mantle of this country's politics and make a different. Victor Hugo, a French Poet, once eloquently said that an idea whose time has come can not be stopped. I dare say that FNM is an idea whose time has come can not be trammelled even with a remote control from a comfortable zone at Enugu Shrine. It is an idea which can neither be stopped by the Talai elders nor by the Njuri Ncheke elders. The symbol of this movement will be Fedora hat and all the members will be given free hats and shirts. We shall also have regional offices and officials—officials who'll be purveying the ideologies of the movement at the grassroot level. We shall move from door to door, from church to church, from market to market and even from school to school until we get our nation off the hooks of corruption and nepotism and tribalism and most importantly, from the so called Deep state mentality. We are in serious business!"

We are in serious business!
